We have a Baby Registry!
Actually, we have two.
Whew! Making a registry is a lot of hard work!
New parents have a LOT of things they need to think of, plan for, and prepare. This registry stuff has been a labor of love and confusion! It was a challenge to find thoughtful, quality items that would add value rather than take space. However, with perseverance, questions, and research, we think we have a good mix. When putting together this registry, we had several priorities we aimed to hit - at least 3/4 per item to make it to the list!
Safety - always the top priority! Research goes a long way with this.
Longevity - we wanted durable products that would last, hopefully be able to use it in the future!
Usefulness - when possible, we went for things that were multi-purpose and would greatly improve quality of life through time/effort saved,
Attractiveness - if we're gonna be living with it, might as well like what we're looking at, right?
With these priorities, we had several guiding principles when evaluating what items made it to the list.
Value - go for bang for the buck! But even then, the cost-per-use and durability have to be weighed against up-front cost and convenience.
Common Sense - gadgetry for gimmick's sake does not an item useful make.
Convenience - we hear being new parents is going to be rough. Even so, we want to enjoy as much time with our little one as possible, fleeting as these days will be. To do that, we're willing to look at things that will make life just a little less stressful. We wanted things that are easy to use in while saving time for other things!
There was a lot of consulting friends, family, and coworkers, as well as looking up websites, blogs, and Pinterest boards! Get information from a variety of sources including your doctor/midwife/doula will go a long way to making you feel prepared.
We're blessed to have so many friends and family to support us during that time, and we're so grateful you keep us in your thoughts! Thank you for the love!
